Getting started
How do I sign in, and why only Apple or Google?
Open WellRep and tap Continue with Apple or Continue with Google. Signing in with Apple is available on iPhone only.
Using an account you already have means there is no new password to remember or leak, and we receive little more than your name and email address. With Apple, you can also hide your real email address from us.
How many habits can I track?
Up to five at a time. Each habit is one segment of the ring on your home screen, and more than five makes it too crowded to read at a glance. To make room, delete or change a habit in the Habits tab by swiping it.
What is the difference between "More of" and "Less of"?
A More of habit is something you want to do more, like reading 50 pages or walking 20 km a week. Its weekly target is a goal to reach.
A Less of habit is something you want to cut back on, like screen time or drinks. Its weekly target is a budget: staying at or under it is a perfect week for that habit.
Your score
How is the WellRep Score calculated?
Every habit gets a score from 0 to 100 for the week, which runs Monday to Sunday, and your WellRep Score is the plain average of them, so each habit counts equally.
- More of: your progress towards the weekly target. Reaching the target, or going past it, scores 100.
- Less of: 100 while you stay within your budget. Past it, the score falls steadily and reaches 0 at double the budget.
The current week is scored against the days so far, not the whole week. On a Wednesday, for example, you are measured against three sevenths of each target.
The score is there to motivate you. It is not a medical or health measurement.
What are milestones and streaks?
The app celebrates the first time one of your weeks reaches 60, 80 or 100. A week scoring 60 or more counts as kept, and your streak is the number of kept weeks in a row. The week in progress joins your streak once it reaches 60, and cannot break it before it is over.
Reminders and Apple Watch
My reminders are not showing up
First check that the reminder is on: open Settings in WellRep, turn on Daily reminder and pick the hour. If notifications are blocked when you turn it on, the app says so there and gives you a button to open your phone's settings.
- iPhone: go to Settings, Notifications, WellRep and turn on Allow Notifications. A Focus mode such as Sleep or Do Not Disturb can also hold them back.
- Android: go to Settings, Apps, WellRep, Notifications and allow them. Some phones delay notifications to save battery; turning off battery optimisation for WellRep helps.
Reminders are scheduled on your phone itself, so they are set per device. After moving to a new phone, turn yours on again.
How do I set up the Apple Watch app and complication?
The watch app comes with WellRep for iPhone. If it does not appear on your watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone, find WellRep under Available Apps and tap Install. It shows this week's ring and lets you log right from your wrist.
To add the complication, touch and hold your watch face, tap Edit, swipe to the complications, tap a slot and choose WellRep. It shows this week's score inside a small ring, or with a gauge in a corner of the face.
The watch talks to your iPhone rather than the internet, so keep WellRep installed and signed in on your phone. If the complication looks behind, open WellRep on your iPhone, then on your watch.
Does WellRep work offline?
WellRep needs an internet connection to save what you log, because your data lives in your account rather than on one phone. If you are offline, the app tells you it could not reach the server and your entry is not saved, so log it again once you are back online. Entries from your watch go through your iPhone: they wait on the watch until your iPhone is nearby and online, and are saved then.
Your account and data
I got a new phone. How do I keep my habits?
Install WellRep on the new phone and sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used before. Your habits and history are stored with your account, so they will be there. Remember to turn your daily reminder on again.
Use the same provider as before, because signing in with the other one can start a separate, empty account. If you signed up with Apple, your account can only be opened on an iPhone for now, so email us before moving to Android.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings, tap Delete account at the bottom and confirm. Everything is deleted straight away. See deleting your account for the full details, including how to ask us if you no longer have the app.
What happens to my data?
We store only what the app needs: your sign-in details, and the habits and entries you add. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell your data. Crash reports are not linked to you. Read the privacy policy for the details.
